1. Non respiratory functions of respiratory system is an imp. question.

2. Alveolar capillary membrane can come as short note. So see its diagram also.

3. Mechanism of breathing  (inspiration and expiration) is less imp.

4. Intra pleural pressure and it's factors

5. Learn all the static lung volumes by heart. Vital capacity in detail including its factors and advantages.
In dynamic lung volumes, only forced vital capacity.

6. Surfactant and it's applied - Hyaline membrane disease. Indu khurana explains this topic in very easier way.

7. Compliance is an imp and difficult topic. It gave me headache once.

8. Reynolds no. and dead space

9. Ventilation perfusion ratio and it's factors affecting is a very imp. topic. You may find it difficult to understand.

10. O2 transport is a frequent exam question and is very easy. You must know the carriage of O2 in blood and sigmoid dissociation curve- It's shift and physiological significance.

11. Same as CO2 transport. easy.

12. Regulation of respiration is examiners favourite chapter.
In nervous regulation, autonomic control - medullary and pontine, voluntary control, factors affecting respiratory center - all imp.

13. Chemical regulation is again very imp. Study all the 3 chemorecepors. Carotid and aortic bodies are examiners favourite.
Chemical factors affecting respiration - It's somewhat tricky. you may find it difficult. so understand it deeply.

14. Apnea, Asphyxia, Periodic breathing.

15. Hypoxia types is a v.v. imp. long question. It's treatment is also imp.

16. Cyanosis

17. Acclimization often comes in exams.

18. Decompression sickness, it's treatment, scuba sickness is again very imp.

19. O2 deficit and it's diagram.

20. Mountain sickness not much imp.
