Best books for neet physics

Physics is the rank decieding subject in NEET. Are you searching for best books for neet physics? Medical students usually consider it as a difficult subject as compared to other subjects and they get less marks in this subject. But for non medical students, physics is not that much difficult. This is due to the application of maths as physics also includes the concepts of maths. Moreover, Physics is a conceptual subject. You need to understand the concept in order to solve questions. But don't worry, Physics is not that much difficult. You just require to follow an appropriate strategy if you want to grow in physics. The appropriate strategy in physics is 'Practice, practice and practice'. You need to practice more and more and a variety of questions in order to gain perfection in physics. So, never hesitate to buy more books in physics.

There are a lot of books for neet physics available in market to prepare for competitive exam. I'm providing the comparative review of various books for neet physics. I will guide you how to prepare for physics for both theory and objective. Personally, I'm an MBBS student and I had done 2 year classroom coaching from Allen carrier institute and I cleared NEET in first attempt. So here are given best books for neet physics

1. Lecture notes and modules

For theory purposes, you require appropriate notes. If you are in a coaching institute, then you will be provided quality notes. Your notes should include full syllabus from which questions are asked in competitive exam. All the formulas and topics should be covered. When you will practice objective questions, you will find that some questions are based on informations rather than numerical. So, you have to include that informations in your notes. These notes will help you a lot during exams.

If you are in a coaching institute, then you will be provided modules. These are good books for neet physics. You have to read its theory also and solve all its MCQ questions. It will provide you an idea about how questions are asked in exams. If you want to learn the formulas of physics by rattafying them again and again, then you can never rattafy such huge amount of formulas. But when you practice questions, you will automatically start remembering them. Remember that you have to solve it multiple times because completing it one time will not help you much. So, revision is must. If you are not taking coaching, then you can buy the coaching material. It will be very helpful to you.

2. Universal self scorer

USS, popularly known as Errorless is a must book for medical aspirants. It is the best book for neet physics. But for non medicos, its not that much helpful. It contains a lot of questions asked in various competitive exams for every chapter along with their hints and solutions. It contains a mixture of easy and some difficult questions along with critical thinking questions for every chapter which are arranged according to topics.. So by doing it, you will have a good practice of questions and you will get an idea of which type of questions are asked in exams and thier weightage. Even if you are a non coaching student, it is a wonderful book for self study. Even the theory given in this book is also wonderful. The content is given in a organised way and in point wise manner. So in my opinion, it is the best book to refer for making theory notes.

Thier are a lot of questions in this book that repeats and are based on same concept. And many questions are so simple that you have to just enter the value in the formula and calculate the answer. So, personally the strategy I used was that while solving the questions, I used to mark those questions that are unique including difficult ones and requires some use of brain to solve them. By this, you will get some selected questions and during 2nd time revision, you have to solve only these questions. Remember multiple revision is very necessary. You will feel when you will solve the same question 2nd time, then you will be able to better understand it and it's concept. So, don't forget to solve the questions multiple times.

As the name of this book is Errorless, it doesn't mean that it has no errors. It means that it has less errors. This is the major disadvantage of this book that it contains mistakes in answers of questions and the concept used to explain the answer. So never rely blindly on its answers. You should refer your teacher for the explanation of any doubtful question. An another advantage of this book is that in starting, it contains chapterwise weightage of questions in various competitive exams in previous 10 years. While buying the book, make sure you buy it's latest edition because the book is updated every year and more questions are included every year. But, USS alone is not enough for you. You require more books for neet physics for higher level questions.

3. D.C. PANDEY

D.C. Pandey is a book from Arihant. It is a set of 5 books. 3 books for class 11 and 2 books for class 12th. It contains solved examples, introductory questions, subjective questions and single correct answers divided into 2 levels, multiple choice questions along with hints and solutions. It is also a wonderful book. It contains questions of different types that will help you to boost your concept. It don't contain much repetition of questions as seen in USS. Basically, this book is a concise collection of different types of questions of different concepts. So, you must solve all its questions and multiple times. You can refer its theory part as well. This book is also helpful for students preparing for JEE exams. So, D.C. Pandey and USS are the best books for neet physics that every medical aspirants must have.

4. CENGAGE BY B.M. SHARMA

Cengage is an another book by B.M. Sharma that is a high level book primarily designed for JEE advanced preparation. But it is also good book for neet physics preparation. It is a set of 6 books. It's big advantage is that it's theory explains the topics in such a nice way. It explains how we have to solve the various questions along with thier concept just like a teacher does. In every topic, it gives illustrations that makes our concept very clear. Especially for non coaching students, this book is going to be like a blessing.

Now coming to the objective part. This book contains a lot of topic wise questions that are very conceptual and of higher level comparatively and covers all the concepts. Solutions and hints are also given. Along with this book, you will also get DPP (daily practice problem) booklet also. Most students find physics difficult, they are not able to solve its questions because they don't have much practice. But after you do a chapter from this book, then believe me, your concept is going to boost too high and it will boost your confidence. It will help you to score good in physics. But pick this book only after you had completed the chapter in books I had previously told.

You may find this book too lengthy. But if you are in foundation course, you have a lot of time to complete it. Even for your weak topics, this book will help you to make it strong. But, this book also contain errors in the answers and in the concept used to explain the answer. So, for that, you can refer your teacher. If you still feel that this book is too lengthy and you don't have enough time, then you can refer to other book - Cengage A to Z physics for NEET. It is relatively concise and especially designed book for neet physics.

5. H.C. VERMA

HCV Concepts of physics is a very famous book. It is known as the Bible of physics. It is written by H.C. Verma who is one of the greatest author of physics. Actually it a standard book of physics. So it is not designed for competitive exams. Even many topics are missing in this book that are important from exam point of view. But still, I would suggest you that you should study this book for neet physics as it is wonderful book to build strong concepts in physics. It's questions are too much conceptual and difficult. It's every question is new and of different concept. You will not find such questions in any other book.

If you start solving it, then it will consume a lot of time and still you will not be able to solve them. Sometimes, you will feel exhausted. But one thing is clear that if you solve it, then it will boost your concepts a lot. Remember not to waste time on the questions that are too much mathematical as these are only for non medicos. It's objective 1 and 2 are pretty good and you can solve it. But if you are trying its exercises, then make sure that you have enough time. And no need to read its theory as it is useless for you. Moreover, you can't understand it's theory.

6. NCERT EXAMPLER

It is an MCQ book provided by NCERT itself. Our teacher used to say that the questions in this book are superb and conceptual. So, it is good book for concept building. I hadn't studied this book. But you can refer it if you like it.

I had heard of other books also like MTG NCERT at your fingertips and D. Mukherji. But these books are not much helpful. You can buy it if you like them.

7. NCERT

The theory of NCERT is not much helpful for you. So don't waste your time in it. But you can definitely solve the exercises at the end of chapters because that question are tricky and of higher level. But don't indulge in questions that are too much mathematical. If you are preparing for AIIMS, then you can read its theory because assertion reasons of AIIMS are asked from NCERT.

8. PREVIOUS YEAR QUESTIONS

There are books available in market for the solved previous year questions of physics of NEET, AIIMS and other exams by various publications like Arihant, MTG, Disha etc. So, it is important for you to solve them at the end of the year. This is because at the end of year, it will tell you that how much are you prepared for your exam. And when you will be able to solve its questions, then it will provide you confidence. It will also give you an idea of your weak topics that you had paid less attention or had left. So it is good book for neet physics preparation.
I will also suggest you to buy previous year questions book of JEE Main and Advanced as it will also give you confidence.

9. IRODOV

Irodov is a book that is of very high level. It's questions are very tough and out of the syllabus of medical entrance exam. So, it is useless book for neet physics. So never ever touch this book. It is only helpful for those preparing for JEE Advanced.

10. Pradeep, Dinesh, Modern

These books are helpful for board exam. But they have no value for neet physics exam preparation. So, stay away from such books.

So now, I hope that you had got a basic understanding of the best books for neet physics required to crack your exam. So just keep doing hardwork and keep patience and then see the results. Remember that there is alternative of hardwork. And make sure to keep revising as much as you can. All the best for your studies. Comment below any query or reviews regarding this post.
